Today I choose to be my priority;  today I choose to be happy

Today I choose to take care of myself a little better, to take care of that internal garden that grows within me, to be happy, to not fall for the selfishness of others, so that my days will no longer be dark, and for that life should give me happiness.

We all want to be happy, but we do not always start on a good path where we take care of ourselves, listen to ourselves and become the main characters in our own lives.

No one should call you selfish because you say “no” when you need it, because you seek oxygen and freedom without pressure, because you cut ties when people hurt you. No one has the power over you, because we are all alone in this world and we are all the same… Then why not start being happy and offer happiness?

Being happy is an adventure that should last a lifetime

Choosing to be happy is the first step to reaching your goal; for he who chooses decides, and he who takes the first step will materialize his thoughts into a reality in his daily life.

In order to be happy, however , in addition to making this choice, you need to prioritize yourself and keep in mind that you may have to put yourself in front of some things and situations. It may sound radical, but the reality is that it is about finding a balance between oneself and others. It is therefore worth considering the following aspects.

Surround yourself with people who give you light and not suffering

As we have mentioned before, you have to have a balance. You should feel good about yourself, and you should keep in mind that every thing you do or do not do affects your expectations, your identity and your essence.

  • There are people who make you lose this inner balance: you move away from your values, your integrity is hurt, you run out of energy, people manipulate you with their irony.
  • Surround yourself with authentic people who let you be yourself in every moment. However, you know that for a large part of your life you have to deal with people who are not in line with who you are and are not people you need.
  • In some cases it is not something you have created because it can be family members or colleagues at work, but in these cases it is about not giving them authority over your life. Limit their influence over you and prioritize yourself.

Be yourself and avoid what is not necessary

When was the last time you had a conversation with your real self? This inner journey is something you should do often, because otherwise you will distance yourself from yourself and lose the path of happiness.

There is a lot of negativity, and it prevents us from breathing. It comes from our environment, but it is also within us:

One should think of these limiting attitudes as “I will not make it”, “this is not for me”, “I will fail” or “it is clear that happiness will never knock on my door”…

  • If your thoughts set up walls, you will never reach the winds of happiness. Be authentic, be yourself and focus on your inner self and release it.
  • One should also think about external influences and how this affects our self-esteem. Relationships that control, that limit and that hinder one’s personal development…
  • There are also many authoritarian families, where the father or mother hinders development and the freedom of their children.

To be happy, you sometimes have to make an inner journey to heal many wounds from yesterday. When they are healed and you are free from fear, it is time to open your heart’s eyes and believe that you really deserve to be happy.
