The Colors And Emotional Health Of The Walls

The colors of the walls and emotional health

Walls are somewhat constructed, but they also have a symbolic value in our lives. Walls represent an obstacle that makes us metaphorically think that “here is an obstacle”. In this article we will talk about the colors of the walls and emotional health.

If you think about it, you will realize that we go through large parts of our lives with walls around us. In the home, in the office, in hotels… yes in every building we enter.

The physical environment undoubtedly affects our emotions. Even if it does not work, the walls can also speak.

Colors

Colors

The perception of colors is something very subjective. Colors do not really exist. They are formed in the brain with the help of light signals from objects. But in addition to this, there are some emotional reactions to different colors.

Some types of depression lead a person to see a dark circle around everything. Other cases, such as schizophrenia, can cause the colors to look deformed.

In any case, colors generate emotions and certain emotional states. It has been proven that colors can also have effects on health, where they activate or counteract certain biochemical processes and hormones. Therefore, the colors of the walls have some effect on people’s emotional health.

The colors of the walls and their influence

The colors of the walls are a factor that can stimulate our emotions and our emotional health. The ideal would have been if they could have changed color to our liking. But since this is almost impossible, it is best not to use a homogeneous color.

Of the four walls, two can be in one color and two in another. Or three in one color and one in another. Or each wall can have its own color.

The ability to be influenced by different colors at the same time can affect you positively and have a good impact on your emotional health.

Influence on emotions

Each color affects the emotions in different ways. Some stimulate and others calm you down:

  • White. This is a neutral color that lights up the room. White has a refreshing and calming effect. You can concentrate better.
  • Green. This is a soothing color that is often used in hospitals precisely because of these effects. Green promotes a sense of trust and well-being. Recommended to counteract anxiety.
  • Blue. This color gives a feeling of peace and harmony. It harmonizes places where there are a lot of conflicts.
  • Yellow. This is an energetic color that helps to overcome fears and counteract depression and give a sense of security. Yellow is recommended for those who feel depressed or melancholy.
  • RED. One should be careful about using red paint on the walls as this can stimulate aggressive emotions. Red is an interesting color, but it is recommended to include it in moderation.
