Letter To My Future Self – Do Not Forget

I am writing this letter to my future self because I do not want the memory of these feelings to disappear with time. When my future self has had many experiences, I want her to take this letter, stop and think. If we do not know where we came from or who we are, how is it possible to know where we are going or what we want?

I just want my future self to take a deep breath, stop and reflect…

My dear, I do not want you to forget all the things that make you happy today. That’s why I’m writing to you. This letter is a projection into infinity,  and I hope you continue to go to bed every night with a smile.

Whether it’s thanks to the friends you have, the work you do or your social life. Maybe it’s because you are always fighting for what you want or because your hobbies make you happy. By the way, I hope you have not stopped with them. Or that you found better substitutes if you did.

I am sure it will be an enjoyable experience to walk along the avenue of memories as you read this letter. Hold on to this amazing feeling! Do not let the years change the feelings or expressions on your face. I want you,  future me, not to lose yourself in bitter temptations or shrink in the face of difficulties.

Future I, in this letter I want to tell you about the dreams I have, the aspirations that make me wake up and that motivate me every day. As you read this, see if you got what you wanted. If you do not have it, be smart. Keep moving forward and keep fighting if your strength and conviction allow it. Otherwise, you should be happy with what you have learned.

Remember that an experience will only be a failure if we try to erase it and dismiss the chance to learn something we are offered.

I do not want to forget everything I feel today, and I do not want you to forget it either. This letter is the key to remembering. I write to give you a happy moment (it’s not just melancholy that inspires my words). Do not forget your tools and everything that has taken you so far. 

Make the most of your enthusiasm and goodwill, but do not abuse them. If you do, it means you are doing something that does not satisfy you. Be inspired and move forward. And remember, many of the clouds that cast shadows on the horizon are not real.

Do not forget that projects need time, people need time, work needs time. You are fortunately  the one who controls your time, and not the other way around  (no matter what many people think). Take your time and give it meaning. Do not let it pass you by. The story is filled with moments like these.

In this letter you will find the adventures you went through, the things that make you proud of who you are today. Above all, you will find what makes you special and different. You are unique, and I want you to continue to do so. If you are not, and you are not smiling now, then stop and think about what you want and where you are going.

Do not let age suffocate the girl inside you. I also write to her today.

I want you, future me, not to forget your roots. That’s why I’m writing to you. Remember everything that came before. Do not just appreciate the people by your side who make this journey with you. Enjoy them!

If you are thinking of someone who has disappeared who used to be a part of your life, call her! Tell her that you appreciate the place she has in your memory and your smile.

In this letter to my future self, my whole essence is alive with desires and hopes. Here is my desire to continue, my desire to continue learning. I do not want them to get lost on the road. If they have done so, try to find them again. Do not let the wind decide what your fate will be.

I hope that you, the future self, have been able to grow and adapt without losing yourself along the way. I want to write another letter for my future. To show her that there really are dreams that are worthwhile. Whether they are imagined, planned, lived or not yet material. Lev!
